All Parish Councillors are required by law to complete a register of interests form to register:
their Disclosable Pecuniary Interests; and
the Disclosable Pecuniary Interests of their spouses or civil partners (or persons with whom they live in that capacity)
The Councillors' Register of Interests is kept by the Borough Council and is available online at: www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/homepage/99/parish_council_register_of_interest
On becoming a Town Councillor for Downham Market Town Council we agree to abide by a very clear Code of Conduct. We agree to work for the Community with "Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Openness, Honesty" and Leadership at all times.
I have lived in Downham Market most of my married life and opened our first electrical shop in town in 1983, with my children attending schools here. We continued running a successful family business until my retirement in 2015.
I was elected to DMTC in 1987 and during that time I was President of the Chamber of Trade and served as Mayor and deputy Mayor. I qualified as a Norfolk County FA referee in 1991 and carried on that interest including being involved in branch meetings until retiring. I have served as Chairman of Downham Market Youth FC and have been helping at Downham Games since the start, being interested in sport all my life. I took up running at 70.
I enjoy gardening particularly growing vegetables, and walking holidays when we can get away.
Having lived and worked in town for so many years I am keen to see the town grow and prosper and I will continue to do my very best for all residents.

Moved to Downham Market, buying house in East Ward in 2014 and joined Council at 2015 elections. Was involved with local councils and local interest groups where I used to live for about 10 years previously. Served DMTC on the HR Committee for a couple of years and spent 5 years on the executive board of Norfolk ALC as one of the two representatives for West Norfolk.
Most of my working life has been on the functional side of IT where I have specialised in the QA and testing of commercial application software solutions, predominantly for large national and international brand name organisations, delivering on well-known projects such as the launch of the Eurostar train service, managing the development of the prototype for the international track and trace service for the body representing the international postal services, validating the "pay at pump" solution for fuel retailers, the launch of debit cards in the UK, the introduction of Chip and PIN in various countries, the launch of the 3 brand mobile phone service, the replacement of the BBC's global IT infrastructure and many more.
Away from work and the Council my interests are fairly time constrained, limited to supporting the Royal British Legion, DiY and watching rugby.

I have lived in Downham Market for 20 years. I worked for the Magistrates' Court Service as a Senior Administrative Manager with, at times, responsibility for up to 40 staff. I also have a legal background in criminal law. I love living in the town and I understand the importance of maintaining tradition, whilst also embracing necessary change.
I have chosen to live here and that says everything about my commitment and belief in the town.
On a personal note, I am a member of Discover Downham and am part of a quiz team. I enjoy walking, cycling, watching sport, gardening socialising and many genres of music.
Town Hall, Community Development
I was born in Stow Bridge and attended primary school there. I then transferred to Downham Secondary Modern Girls School. The majority of my working years have been spent in retail and my last position was with John Lewis Partnership Cambridge. I was customer service manager in our department at busy times dealing with customer complaints etc. The skills I have acquired I trust will help me as a Councillor. I have always enjoyed talking to people!!
Recently I was accepted as a Cinnamon Trust charity walker. Volunteers walk dogs for elderly and terminally ill people. I love animals. I am also a cyclist which helps with exercising.
For most of my life I have spent the years in Stow Bridge or Downham Market, however I was fortunate to have lived and worked in Hong Kong where I taught children to read and write English.
I am very priviledged to be a Councillor and will work extremely hard with the other members of this Council for the people and town of Downham Market.

Community Development, Finance,
I have lived in Downham Market for more than 11 years and worked locally throughout that time.
I was born and brought up in Kings Lynn before moving here by chance and settled very well.
I consider Downham my home and care about the community and what happens within it.
I love tradition but also believe that we should embrace change where necessary.
In my spare time I see family, friends, I enjoy the cinema, walking, holidays, reading, music, I love spending time in our garden, Christmas and days out including London when possible.
It's my aim one day to have visited the four corners of Britain!
