The annual parade celebrating the historic horse markets of Downham Market and its links to St Winnolds.
Usually held on a Friday, this year we are holding the parade and market blessing on a Saturday so that residents who work in the week are able to watch this unique celebration.
The Parade, lead by some magnificent heavy horses and accompanied by the adorable mini-donkeys, attracts local and county dignitaries, Sword and Mace Bearers, local school pupils etc. We start from Discover Downham on Priory Road and process up Bridge Street to the Town Hall.
The horses often linger on the Town Square for a few moments for a photo opportunity before being escorted back to Discover Downham.
Parade starts at 9.30am and arrives at the Town Hall around 9.45/50am.
