The Market runs on Fridays and Saturdays in the heart of the town.
The Market starts at 8am and finishes at 3pm on both days.
There are several options available from 'come and try', ad hoc trading to trading on a permanent basis. Details are in the licence application on this page, but if you would like an informal discussion we would welcome your enquiry - please contact us on 01366 387770 or info@downhammarkettc.co.uk.
New Traders
We have a limited number of 'new trader' packs available including the loan of a gazebo so you can see if market trading is for you without immediate commitment.
We offer a trial trader period of 8 weeks for one payment of £20* with the use of the Council’s gazebo, which will be ready erected, table and chair plus social media posts to advertise your business
Ad-hoc pitches are available at £15* per week
Regular traders pay £40* per month for a pitch once per week
*Rates quoted are based on a 3m x 3m pitch
The town’s market is held on the Town squares, Bridge Street around our iconic Town Hall, where you will find a wide variety of retail traders.
