VE DAY 75 - 8th May 2020

The weekend of May 8th – 10th is the weekend to commemorate and celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, marking the end of the war in Europe.

Sadly the town’s plans for celebrating VE Day 75 have had to be postponed but there is a way to still celebrate at home whilst observing all the Government advice about staying safe.

These websites have some great ideas and resources – let’s mark the anniversary, recognise the spirit of people like Captain Tom Moore who at 99 years of age has raised £18m for the NHS by doing 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday, and show our gratitude to all those servicemen and women who served to protect our country.
