(DOWNHAM MARKET) (EMERGENCY NOTICE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION 2020
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2)
In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to the likelihood of danger arising to the public due to Covid-19 and the need to undertake social distancing measures, considers it is necessary and expedient to introduce the following measures and restrictions and that these measures and restrictions should come into effect without delay –
All vehicles are prohibited from waiting, stopping and loading/unloading on the following lengths of road in the TOWN OF DOWNHAM MARKET –
C492 High Street (western side of road only) - from a point 53m north of its junction with U21430 Priory Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 16m;
C492 High Street (eastern side of road only) – from a point 12m north of its junction with C885 Bridge Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 20m; and
C885 Bridge Street (southern side of the road only) – from a point 100m west of its junction with C492 High Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 31m;
The existing Traffic Orders relating to parking in this location will be temporarily suspended to facilitate this prohibition whilst the need for the measures exists.
The temporary traffic management measures will be in place for 21 days during the period 15th June and 5th July 2020, when signs are in place. Due to the unknown period the restrictions may be required, these measures will be continued with a Temporary Traffic Order to be in place for up to 18 months.
If a vehicle (other than an emergency vehicle on emergency business) is left in contravention of any waiting restriction provisions imposed by this Notice a penalty charge shall be payable.
In the case of a vehicle in respect of which a penalty charge is payable, a penalty charge notice may be issued in accordance with the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 (as amended in 2015).
