Temporary TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES RELATED TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS IN TOWNS IN NOROLK

NOTICE is given that owing to the likelihood of danger arising to the public due to Covid-19 and the need to undertake social distancing measures, Norfolk County Council proposes to introduce the restrictions detailed below.

Road closures: all vehicles will be temporary prohibited from entering, waiting or being in the lengths of roads specified. Parking restrictions: all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on the specified lengths of road.

ATTLEBOROUGH

A. Road closure - Queens Square from its junction with the B1077 Exchange Street for 75m northwards.

B. Suspension of parking –(i) B1077 Exchange Street for its entire length; and 2) B1077 Church Street for its entire length.

AYLSHAM

The following roads will be subject to the temporary imposition of a one-way system:-

(i) Red Lion Street (southwards) from its junction with White Hart Street to its junction with Penfold Street; and

(ii) Market Place (south westwards) from its junction with Red Lion Street for a distance of 40m south west.

CROMER

Suspension of parking:

(i) A149 Hamilton Road (north side of carriageway) from its junction with A149 Prince of Wales Road for a distance of 70 metres eastwards; and

(ii) U10217 Garden Street (west side of carriageway) from its junction with A149 Church Street for a distance of 70 metres northwards.

DEREHAM

Road closure: Church Street from its junction with the High Street for 150m south.

Suspension of parking: Church Street on both sides and for its entire length.

DISS

Road closure: U71669/46 Market Place from 27 metres south of its joining with U71669/30 southwards for a distance of 55 metres.

DOWNHAM MARKET

All vehicles are prohibited from waiting, stopping and loading/unloading on the following lengths of road –

(i) C492 High Street (western side of road only) - from a point 53m north of its junction with U21430 Priory Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 16m;

(ii) C492 High Street (eastern side of road only) – from a point 12m north of its junction with C885 Bridge Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 20m; and

(iii) C885 Bridge Street (southern side of the road only) – from a point 100m west of its junction with C492 High Street in a westerly direction for a distance of 31m.

FAKENHAM

The use by vehicles of the C551 Norwich Street from its junction with C550 Whitehorse Street heading west for 120m will be temporarily prohibited on Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri/Sat (Thurs already closed for market) between 8:30 and 16:30 hrs.

GORLESTON-ON-SEA

Suspension of parking:

A. C632 High Street (east side of the carriageway):-

(i) from its junction with U61206 Horsey's Lane for a distance of 115m northwards; and

(ii) from a point 65m south of its junction with U61227 School Lane to a point 20m north of its junction with U61227 School Lane.

B. U61529 Lower Esplanade from 30m south of its junction with U61541 Pier Gardens for a distance of 150m southwards.

HOLT

Suspension of parking:

(i) U14375 Bull Street (south side of carriageway) from its junction with U14379 Shirehall Plain for a distance of 40 metres eastwards;

(ii) C488 High Street (south side of carriageway) from its junction with U14379 Shirehall Plain for a distance of 17 metres both eastwards and westwards; and

(iii) C488 Market Place (south side of carriageway) from a point 56 metres west of its junction with C300 Station Road for a distance of 22 metres westwards.

HUNSTANTON

All vehicles will be prohibited from waiting, stopping and loading/unloading on the following lengths of road:-

(i) C499 High Street - Eastern side only from a point 14m north of junction with the C482 Westgate in a northerly direction for a distance of 20m;

(ii) C481 Greevegate – Southern side only from a point 25m north-east of junction with U20037 Saint Edmunds Terrace in a north-easterly direction to a point 26m south-west of its junction with C499 High Street, namely the taxi rank and parking bays.

KING’S LYNN

All vehicles are prohibited from waiting, stopping and loading/unloading in the U20422 Paradise Lane from its junction with U2429 Old Sunway to its junction with U2415 Norfolk Street.

MUNDESLEY

Suspension of parking: U14328 Station Road (south side of carriageway) from its junction with U14329 Back Street for a distance of 50m westwards.

REDENHALL WITH HARLESTON

A. Road closures:

(i) C571 The Thoroughfare from its junction with U76018 Exchange Street to its junction with U76536 Bullock Fair Close;

(ii) C877 Swan Lane from its junction with U71084 Weavers Croft to its junction with C571 The Thoroughfare;

(iii) U76018 Exchange Street from its junction with C571 London Road to its junction with U76016 Old Market Place; and

(iv) U76017 Church Street from its junction with U76017 Broad Street to its junction with C571 London Road.

B. U76016 Old Market Place from its junction with U76018 Exchange Street to its junction with U76017 Broad Street will be subject to the temporary imposition of a one-way system (southbound).

C. U76017/50 between Church Street and Exchange Street will be subject to the temporary suspension of the 11 parking bays and no vehicle will be permitted to park or stop.

SWAFFHAM

A. Road closure: Market Place from the A1065 mini-roundabout for 130m north.

B. Suspension of parking: on the A1065 from Pit Lane for 110m north.

THETFORD

Suspension of parking:

(i) White Hart Street – for its entire length;

(ii) Well Street – for its entire length; and

(iii) Guildhall Street – for its entire length with an exemption for the disabled parking bays.

WATTON

A. Road closures:

(i) Middle Street for its entire length;

(ii) Thetford Road (northern end, Saxon House) from its junction with the B11808 southwards for 50m;

(iii) Dereham Road from its junction with Harvey Street to the junction with High Street.

B.  Suspension of parking: on the main section of the High Street.

WYMONDHAM

A. Road closures:

(i) C700 Market Street from its junction with U78447 Queen Street for 150 metres westwards;

(ii) C700 Market Place from its junction with U78447 Queen Street for 91 metres eastwards; and

(iii) U78447 Queen Street from its junction with C700 Market Place for 83 metres southwards.

B. The following roads will be subject to the temporary imposition of a one-way system:-

(i) U78301 Back Lane (westwards) from its junction with U78450 Parkers Entry to its junction with U78310 Orchard Way; and

(ii) U78300 Brewery Lane (north-westwards) from its junction with U78299 Friarscroft Lane to its junction with U78447 Queen Street.

C. U78299 Friarscroft Lane from its junction with C700 Market Place to its junction with U78300 Chandlers Hill will be subject to the temporary imposition of a 7.5Tonne weight restriction.

D. U78447 Queen Street at its junction with C700 Market Place will be temporarily subject to a no right turn restriction.

E. The following roads will be temporarily subject to a no left turn restriction:-

(i) U78300 Chandlers Hill car park into U78300 Brewery Lane;

(ii) U78447 Queen Street at its junction with U78300 Brewery Lane; and

(iii) U78300 Chandlers Hill at its junction with U78299 Friarscroft Lane.

The temporary traffic management measures will be in place from 6th July 2020 to 5th December 2021, when signs are in place.

Alternative signed routes will be provided for traffic whilst the traffic management measures are in place. The existing Traffic Orders relating to parking and one-way restrictions in these locations will be temporarily suspended to facilitate this these restrictions whilst the need for the measures exists.

If a vehicle is left in contravention of any waiting restriction provisions imposed by these Temporary Orders a penalty charge shall be payable.

In the case of a vehicle in respect of which a penalty charge is payable, a penalty charge notice may be issued in accordance with the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 (as amended in 2015).

If a vehicle is left in contravention of any provisions imposed by these Temporary Orders a penalty charge shall be payable, or a maximum fine of £1000 on conviction and/or endorsement.
