DMTC will be holding its Budget meeting on December 7th 2021.
DMTC finances are in a healthy position despite the effects of COVID and additional strains that have been placed upon it This position has been verified by auditors, and, contrary to numerous claims the accounts have always been available to the public to view.
In addition, following a recent social media post that implies the Council may have run out of money, this is both untrue and unhelpful to the Council, which has a recent record of sound financial management, particularly since the current Clerk came into post.
The meeting on December 7th will discuss the finance requirements of DMTC for the period April 2022 - March 2023. The information will be sent to the Borough Council so that they can set out your Council Tax bill. The DMTC precept is one element of the bill that make up your total Council Tax bill along with contributions to the Police, County and Borough Council's as well as the Social Care precept.
The meeting is open to the public and questions may be submitted in the same way as questions to Full Council i.e please put in your question by noon December 6th 2021, and it will be answered either at the meeting or on direction of the Chair of Finance in writing. A request to ask the question in person may also be made.
Additionally, the meeting is live streamed and the public may observe. proceedings.
The Finance and General Purposes Committee is subject to the council standing orders which will be applied should circumstances dictate.
