What is Finance & General Purposes Committee?

This Committee is responsible for:

  1. Receiving and monitoring actuals against budgets.

  2. Drawing together any Business Plans.

  3. Identifying Funding Streams and overseeing applications.

  4. Community Infrastructure Levy or any subsequent similar legislation.

  5. Reporting to each Full Council meeting in coherent format.

  6. Legal and financial aspects of estate management including the Mind Building, Paradise Road Garage, Council Offices and other property.

  7. Compliance with statutory requirements related to accountancy and audit responsibility including a review of the internal and external auditor’s findings.

  8. All other legal matters.

  9. Overseeing Risk Assessment – Personnel, Health and Safety, Council assets and Financial.

  10. Insurance.

  11. Maintaining and updating of asset register.

  12. Overseeing the financial aspects of all Standing Committees, financial reporting and strategic planning.
