Downham Market Festival Week

Held annually around the end of May Bank Holiday weekend this is a week long series of events, with the main Festival Parade and arena events on the Howdale being held on the Bank Holiday itself.

2007 sees the 33rd year of this highly popular event

Howdale Music Festival

Held in July 2007 this day long event proved to be a great success despite poor weather

St Winnold's Fair

St Winnold’s Fair is a Civic event to commemorate the first market charter granted to the town in 1046.

The last Friday before Good Friday is marked by a procession round the town and market of local dignitaries, some in a horse and trap, all headed by a led shire horse.

The event was resurrected in 2004 and has quickly become established as a popular and unique event on Downham’s calendar.

Downham Market Summer Ball

An annual charity fundraising event held in the Town Hall and open to all.

Chinese Lion Dance to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The Dance was brought to the town by the West Norfolk and District Chinese Association and free Chinese food was provided by local restaurant, Szechuan Inn Railway Road Downham Market (01366 387790).

The event was attended by children from Clackclose Primary School as well as members of the public.
