Support Groups

CROSSROADS CARING FOR CARERS IN NORFOLK LTD.,
West Norfolk Branch
Helping unpaid carers within the local area, we provide a limited free service for families caring for people living with a physical disability or a mental health illness at home. It does not affect any other help, including financial help, which families are receiving. We can also provide additional support at an additional charge or through Direct Payments or Individual Budgets, more information is available from the Care Manager.
Although affiliated to the national organisation, this scheme is managed locally by a voluntary committee and all operations are carried out at our central office in Dereham. Carer Support Workers are trained to take the role of the unpaid carer providing personal care and/or company for the person who is disabled.
They work very flexible hours, are reliable and provide help when it is needed on a regular or occasional basis, according to changing family situations.
The West Norfolk Branch Care Manager welcomes all enquiries about the scheme and can be contacted at:

DOWNHAM TOWN CRICKET CLUB
Downham Town Cricket Club is probably the oldest of the active clubs, dating back to the late 1700's. We have written details of matches that took place at that time. At the present time the club fields four senior teams and three junior teams. All competing in leagues and friendly competitions across the County. The 1st XII last year became the Norfolk Alliance Premier League champions and just this week clinched the title for the second year in a row. This makes the Town's cricket club one of the best in the County. The 3rd team are also champions of their league, as are the Sunday XII. The club also sends coaches into the local high school and the two primary schools as well as the high schools at Methwold and Terrington. This coaching is financed by the club with no contribution from the schools.
The home of Downham Town Cricket Club is The Memorial Playing Field, Lynn Road, Downham Market and monthly meetings are held in the clubhouse.

DOWNHAM MARKET & DISTRICT CROSSROADS - CARING FOR CARERS
Helping unpaid carers within the local area, we provide a free service for families caring for physically disabled people at home. It does not affect any other help, including financial help, which families are receiving. Although affiliated to the national organisation, this scheme is managed locally by a voluntary committee. Carer Support Workers are trained to take the role of the unpaid carer providing personal care and/or company for the person who is disabled. They work very flexible hours, are reliable and provide help when it is needed on a regular or occasional basis, according to changing family situations.
The Co-ordinator welcomes all enquiries about the scheme and can be contacted at:
